On Monday 19th August, AIDA held the first training session of the Artificial Intelligence Family Challenge (AIFC) in Kuwait. To run this challenge over a period of 6 months, AIDA has partnered with local organizations namely GDG&WTM, Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) and Kuwait.ai. This training is free and open to families with children aged 16 or less. Participants are trained in foundational AI concepts, machine learning, neural networks with the aim of creating an innovative solution to community problems using AI.

This first session saw the participation of five families who were trained on the basics of AI. Future sessions will have a specific focus, including (i) identifying a community problem, (ii) training on machine learning modules (iii) creating an invention using AI and (iv) finally submitting a video pitch. At the end of this challenge, families will submit their project to the global competition. Six families will be awarded a fully covered trip to Silicon Valley in California.
